This senior leadership role is pivotal to our operations, with the successful candidate responsible for reviewing, approving, and signing off on audit reports in line with International Standards on Auditing (ISA). The position requires a dynamic professional who can ensure the accuracy and integrity of audited financial statements while overseeing the work of our talented audit team.

What Does an Audit Signing Principal Do?

The Audit Signing Principal plays a vital role in the audit process, ensuring compliance with both international and local accounting standards. The successful candidate will lead our audit team, manage complex audit projects, and ensure the highest level of accuracy and thoroughness in our financial statements. This includes identifying potential risks, overseeing the work of team members, and providing actionable recommendations to improve financial and operational processes.

As part of this role, the Audit Signing Principal will:

• Team management: Lead a team of 5-10 members based in both Gibraltar and the Philippines, ensuring seamless collaboration and productivity.
• Audit planning: Develop and implement audit strategies, procedures, and systems for effective and efficient audits.
• Risk identification: Identify areas of potential risk, implement risk mitigation procedures, and ensure that audits are completed with high accuracy.
• Review and oversight: Review the work of audit team members, ensuring thoroughness and compliance with international standards.
• Audit findings & recommendations: Present audit results to management and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial and operational processes.
• Staff training: Supervise, guide, and mentor audit staff, fostering continuous learning and development.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure consistent and accurate financial reporting.
• Financial statements: Ensure compliance with IFRS or FRS 102 in financial statements.
• Compliance: Verify that audits adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
• Final signature and approval: Act as the signatory for the audit reports, presenting them to stakeholders including shareholders and regulators.

What Are We Looking For?

We are seeking a professional with:

• Professional qualification: A recognized qualification (CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent) is essential.
• Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years in audit, with proven experience as a Senior Manager, Director, or Partner in a reputable firm.
• Technical knowledge: Strong expertise in International Standards on Auditing and both international and local accounting standards.
• Leadership: Demonstrated experience in managing audit teams and overseeing complex projects.
• Commitment to ethics: A track record of adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards.
• Gibraltar or UK experience: While experience in these regions is preferred, it is not essential.
